Introduction:
These mouldings are used in paint grade interior applications. They are finer and more dense than particle board materials that many people are more familiar with.
Advantages:
• Most of the popular moulding profiles are available in MDF and solid wood.
• The manufacturing process insures a uniform consistency without the imperfections that may exist in other paint grade products.
• MDF does not warp or split and does not expand and contract.
• It has a hard surface that will not damage easily and that will not show raised grain.
• The mouldings are primed and there is very little surface preparation required for finishing.
• MDF mouldings are less expensive than other wood paint grade mouldings. This is especially true in larger architectural profiles.
