We use advanced technology to test the moisture content and internal structure of the timber to ensure that it will not crack or warp during use.
In addition, we take precise measurements of the dimensions and shapes of the timber to ensure the stability and consistency of each piece of material in subsequent processing and use. It is through this rigorous and meticulous selection process that we are able to confidently guarantee that each and every piece of material meets our exacting requirements for perfect quality, providing you with the most reliable and highest quality base material for your project. These timbers are rigorously selected and treated to ensure that their quality and performance meet the high standards required.
The process of making LVL timber is complex and delicate. Firstly, the logs are rotary cut into thin slices (veneers) which are usually around 3mm thick. Next, the veneers are dried to reduce their moisture content to prevent warping and cracking in subsequent processing. After drying, the veneers are glued, usually with environmentally friendly phenolic resin adhesives or polyurethane adhesives, which have high bond strength and durability.
After gluing, the veneers are stacked one on top of the other in the direction of the wood fibres to form a blank. The blanks are hot pressed at high temperatures and pressures, allowing the layers of veneer to be tightly bonded together to form a highly homogeneous wood product. Finally, the moulded LVL timber is cut and trimmed to the required specification and size.
The safety of LVL timber is primarily due to its superior structural properties and longevity. LVL timber is extremely strong and rigid due to the manufacturing process which strictly controls the quality and orientation of each veneer layer. Compared with traditional solid wood, LVL timber performs much better in terms of bending, shear and compression resistance, and is able to withstand larger loads, making it suitable for use in a variety of structural elements such as beams, columns and floor slabs.
In addition, LVL timber is treated with preservative, insect and fire retardant treatments during the manufacturing process, further improving its safety performance. These treatments make LVL timber less prone to rotting in humid environments, protect it from insect infestation and provide it with a certain degree of fire resistance, ensuring greater safety and reliability in use.
In the LVL production process, in order to ensure the safety and environmental protection of the final product in the process of use, we have specially chosen a safer and environmentally friendly phenolic adhesive. This type of adhesive not only outperforms traditional glues, but also has a significant protective effect on the environment and the user's health. Our choice of eco-friendly phenolic adhesives is formulated with low VOCs, which greatly reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Through strict quality control and environmental certification, this phenolic adhesive emits virtually no harmful gases during use, ensuring air quality in the living and working environment.
