Product Description
Prepare and inspect materials:
It is advisable to select good-quality logs and have them peeled and cut to the appropriate length.
Rotary cut veneer:
The process of cutting logs into thin veneers (typically 3-4 mm thick) is known as rotary cutting.
Dry veneer:
The rotary cut veneer is dried to a suitable moisture content (usually 6-8%) using a dryer.
Glue:
The application of an adhesive to the dry veneer is typically carried out using either phenolic or urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive.
Forming and hot pressing:
Glue-coated veneers are stacked in layers and arranged in the desired thickness and direction.
The hot pressing process cures the veneers into a single unit under high temperature and high pressure (typically at a temperature of 120-150°C and a pressure of 0.8-1.2 MPa).
Cooling and trimming:
Once the sheet has been hot-pressed, it is cooled to prevent distortion.
The sheets are then cut and trimmed to the required size and shape.
Sanding and Inspection:
Sanding the surface of the sheet to make it flat and smooth.
Perform quality inspection of the finished product, including size, strength, and moisture content.
Packaging and Storage:
Pack the qualified LVL sheets and store them in a proper environment for shipment.
